Cleansing Your Face Properly

Take a good look in the mirror. Do those pores look clean? Is all your makeup off? Honestly, most people don’t cleanse their face properly. Here are a few things to avoid:

Wash your hands first! Our hands carry so many unseen germs, bacteria, dirt, and debris. It’s totally counterproductive to touch your face with dirty hands. Truthfully you should limit, or not touch your face at all!

Don’t scrub too hard! I realize we want to feel clean, but it’s a fact that scrubbing too hard can irritate your skin. Simply gently massaging in circular motions (with the correct cleanser) is enough. Vigorous scrubbing is just unnecessary.

Rinse thoroughly! After cleansing make sure to remove all of the traces of product from your skin. Leaving impurities and residue on your on the surface will build up and can lead to clogged pores and fine lines. So, fully rinse and don’t neglect your neck, jawline, and hairline.

Turn down the temp! I know, I know, hot water feels so good, but water too hot will dry out your skin and compromise the protective oils we need on the surface. The best temperature is lukewarm to warm.

Dab don’t rub! Scrubbing your face with a dry towel afterwards to dry off irritates and is harsh on your skin. Be gentle and dab rather than a tugging or pulling motion on your precious face.

Use a Tonique or mist! Please, please, please, use a Tonique. This is an absolute must! They keep your PH levels balanced and is a main key in overall skin health. Once you’ve spritzed you’re ready for the next steps in your regime.

Seal in the moisture! Your skin care regime should always end with a moisturizer. Your skin needs that hydrating dose and right away while your still damp, your products will blend nicely and it will seal in the moisture.

For the ultimate clean face at the end of the day…….double cleanse! The first wash removes makeup, sweat, oil, dirt, debris, etc. The second wash allows the components of the product actually do what they were formulated to do!

Now, you will like who you see in the mirror!
